Families meet and greet at CPSD schools
In preparation for the first day of school, schools across the district hosted students, parents and guardians to give them a chance to meet teachers and acquaint themselves with their school.
Dower Elementary School families enjoyed hot dogs, met their principal and toured classrooms the day before school started on Aug. 29. All elementary schools had similar festivities to welcome new members of their communities.
“We connected with more than 200 families,” said Dower principal Megan Qualls. “Bringing in families and parents before school starts means they will be more willing to work with us a team and see it as a partnership.”
