CPSD welcomes almost 140 new teachers
Clover Park School District (CPSD) welcomed nearly 140 new teachers to the district as part of the district’s week-long new educators’ orientation.
In mid-August, the new educators spent between 30 and 40 hours attending workshops that included information on the Danielson Framework for Teaching, the district’s professional learning community (PLC) model, curriculum design, program materials and technology.
“First impressions are very important. We want our new educators to feel welcomed and supported so they are able to thrive as career professionals in our district—for the long term,” said CPSD professional development coordinator Jan Lonsway. “Hopefully they leave with a greater understanding of our instructional frameworks, as well as a strong sense of what our district’s vision is for student learning and success.”
At the end of the week, the teachers were treated to a BBQ lunch with their principals.
